Zuber Cie

This incredible Zuber Cie panoramic wallpaper scene was in the lobby of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island where I recently got to experience "high tea." Zuber is the last factury in the world to produce woodblock printed wallpapers and furnishing fabrics. The French company has been in business since 1797. They use the original woodblocks (more than 100,000) engraved from the XVII and XIX century. When I first saw the work I thought it was an original painting.

The historic hotel was a visual delight!--Ruth Mitchell
