Living it Up in New Hampshire

Cross country ski trails start at the doorstep ot the 1785 Inn.
The 1785 Inn in North Conway is named after the year the building was constructed. That blows me away, a building that old, over two hundred years. We had an exquisite meal there recently. Our table was right in front of the fire place and I enjoyed one of the best veal dishes I have ever had.

Our flaming Cherries Jubilee was prepared tableside
The dining room and bar areas were very creatively decorated for the holiday season by Becky Mallar, who with her husband Charlie owns and operates the Inn. Becky is not only a talented decorator but a cake artist as well, and the Inn is a perfect location for a wedding with its incredible views of the mountains.

Wine Spectator magazine has lauded
the 1785 Inn for the past 26 years for its wine list, calling it "One of the finest in the world."

Veal Picatta
Sauteed with Mushrooms, Capers
White Wine and Lemon Juice.
This was one of the most romantic evenings I've enjoyed in a long time, and one of the best meals I can remember. The Washington Mountain Valley region is truly filled with a plethora of activities and dining opportunities. Just a short drive from Boston you will not be disappointed no matter what time of year you go.--Ruth Mitchell
